About Us
Creating spaces that serve as anchors in your community.

Tony Thurber
Owner and Licensed Architect
I’m a Boise-based architect with more than 14 years of experience helping developers, contractors, and homeowners bring projects to life.
From early site feasibility studies and zoning reviews to full commercial and residential design, I focus on solutions that fit the land and connect communities.
Licensed in Idaho and Washington, I’ve designed a wide range of commercial buildings and neighborhood homes, always aiming to create spaces that serve as anchors in their communities.
I pride myself on collaboration and responsiveness. If you need an architect who understands Boise’s Modern Zoning Code, local permitting, and the realities of construction, I’m here to help.
Let’s connect and start building something meaningful.

Tony’s Story
How I Got Here
Originally hailing from Canada, I moved to the United States for school in 2009 and have made my home in Idaho ever since.
My wife and I are the kind of people who try to do all the “right things,” like building good credit, paying bills on time, paying off debt and saving for a downpayment on a house. We were just about ready to look for our first home when the pandemic hit, driving housing prices through the roof, and taking us along with it.
After months of looking for a home, the discouragement was REAL. We began to realize our savings meant very little in this market. And then we found out that we were expecting our first child.
It’s been a dream for me to be a homeowner since I was a kid. And it felt like that dream died a little more each day. I kept asking myself, I’ve done all the “right” things to get here, why was this happening?
I know I’m not the only one with this story. It’s now normal to feel like homeownership isn’t attainable for my generation and I believe this is wrong on so many levels.
Fast forward another year, and we finally moved into our first home with our now five month old son in tow. It was a literal miracle that got us there.
For those still waiting on their miracle, the wait lists are long. Prices keeps increasing. Savings dry up. More people move in. More people are born. The housing supply is constantly behind.
There is so much work that needs to be done. That’s why Anchored Architects exists: to be a part of the solution.
